The Riace Bronzes were found in the sea near the cost of Riace in the August of 1972. The archeologists think that the two statues were the portraits of two famous heroes, Tideo and Anfiarao. The first was the son of Eneo, the king of Calidone. He fights in Tebe and during the famous final battle killed Menalippo and prior to death, eaten his brain. Anfiarao was a warrior prophet, protected by Apollo. He attended to the Tebe battle and died during the battle, escaping with his auriga Batone. Tideo is also called A bronze, Agesilao is the B Bronze. Both belongs to a famous bronze sculptural group, in Argo, dedicated to the Tebe Heroes. The group included the two statue with swords, helmets and labels. This peculiarity was deducted by the arms position. This object were founded in the see near the statues. The statues were realized by Agelada, an Argo sculptor
