Funeral procession of Ramose.
Above, a gilded catafalque, intended to hold the deceased's sarcophagus and decorated with the symbols of the knot of Isis and djed pillars, is pulled by animals and men holding reins.
Below, some participants in the funeral procession carry some objects towards Ramose's tomb. They carry a fan, a bed with a headrest, four chests, a chair, a scribe's palette, vases, sandals and containers for ushabti. A group of women mourn the loss of Ramose. They wear a white dress, the colour of mourning in ancient Egypt, and have their arms raised above their heads, in some cases with their palms turned towards their faces. These are typical gestures of mourning. To emphasise their grief, tears have been painted on their cheeks. - 30703
