Canopy above the papal altar. The bees are the coat of arms of the Barberini, the family to which the patron, Urban VIII, belonged. The bronze used came from the Pantheon. The high altar under the canopy, where only the Pope can celebrate mass, is above the confessio, designed by Maderno, which contains St. Peter's tomb. - 5884
