The goddess of the sky, Nut, with her arms and legs spread out, is swallowing the sun disk (dusk) to give birth to it at dawn. Under her body a series of registers with scenes of the daily and nocturnal journey of the solar barque accompanied by divinities. During his ride the sun god meets his enemy, the serpent Apopis, menacing to overturn the boat but promptly annihilated.
