The inner gold sarcophagus of Tutankhamun

The mummy of the pharaoh was inside three sarcophagi, the innermost one completely made of gold. The lid of the sarcophagus is carved with a high relief depicting the deceased king as Osiris, his arms crossed over his chest as he clutches the two symbols of kingship, the crosier and the scourge. The two goddesses Wadjet and Nekhbet, respectively the cobra goddess of Lower Egypt and the vulture goddess of Upper Egypt, are placed on the pharaoh's forehead.
