Detail. Ramesses III and his son, Prince Amonherkhepshef, stand before Duamutef, one of the sons of Horo depicted with the head of a black canid. The pharaoh wears the red crown, Deshret, symbol of Lower Egypt, on his head. This headdress is attested since the Predynastic Period, when it was the typical ornament of the rulers of the Sais region in the Delta and was also the emblem of the goddess Neith.
