Scene from The Book of the Dead, Chapter 17: The Four Sons of Horus

The scene is placed over the entrance to the burial chamber and is divided into two registers. It is part of the Book of the Dead, chapter 17. On the left is the celestial cow while on the right are the four sons of Horus positioned next to the chest of canopic jars where Anubis in the form of a jackal is visible. The four sons of Horus were responsible for protecting the internal organs of the body placed inside the canopic jars. On the right are two enthroned figures, possibly Ra, with the head of a falcon, and Shu, with a human head
