Rameses II is partially visible on the right. The ruler wears the Double Crown and is depicted in the act of striking a Nubian enemy with a mace he holds in his left hand. With his right hand, Rameses clasps his bow and holds the prisoner, kneeling before him, by the hair. On the left is the god Amun, wearing the characteristic crown formed by a modus and two tall feathers. In his left hand the god clutches the Was sceptre, while in his right he holds the Khopesh, a sceptre in the shape of a curved sword, symbol of royal power.
