Lid of the sarcophagus of Ramesses II
This lid is made of pieces of precious wood held together by means of a system of tenons and mortises; on the lid is a hieratic inscription describing the different movements of the mummy, above it two cartouches with the names of the ruler; uraeus, flagellum, sceptre, false beard.
