Double statue of Amenemhat III depicted as the god Nile
Double granite statue representing Amenemhat III as the god Nile making offerings of fish and aquatic plants, symbolising prosperity and fertility. The figures wear a heavy wig divided into two broad locks and a broad beard marked by parallel lines reminiscent of the primordial gods. The hieroglyphic inscriptions on the statues were added during the reign of Psusenne I when the group was brought to Tanis where it was later found.
