Statue of Ramesses II

Statue of Ramesses II from Tanis. The ruler is probably seated and wears a short wig, encircled by a tenia with the royal uraeus, a large necklace with five rows of beads. His right arm is folded across his chest and in his hand he clasps the heqa sceptre, on his wrist a bracelet with a raised udjat eye. The dress is rich and pleated. The nose is missing. The ruler is depicted with youthful features and the style is very close to that of the statue of Ramesses II himself in the Egyptian Museum in Turin.
