The discovery of the army of China's First Emperor is considered by many to be the greatest archaeological find of the 20th century. Simma Qian, the great historian who lived in the 1st century BC recounts that in the huge underground palace, built using the forced labor of over 700,000 men, the ceiling of the main hall faithfully reproduced the heavens, while the empire was depicted on the floor.
