Museo di Leptis Magna, Libia

The Lepcis Magna Museum is a newly opened museum that holds many marble portraits and marble statues found along the once celebrated colonnaded way, on the market and in the others archaeologic site of the city. The museum is divided in many rooms, that contain mosaics , reliefs and frieze from Septimius Severus arch as well as two Aphrodithes from the bath, and many vases and plates. There are the two statues of Castore and Pollux, and a marble statue of emperor Marcus Aurelius. There are also some capitals, pillars, and amphoras. There are urns from the necropolis and many epigraphs, some of this are about the goddess Tanit. In the museum are also the coins.which were found in Misurata and many jewels of desert popolations. In the final room of exposition there is a beautiful stone elephant
